For the production of one cup of tea, 30 liters of water are required. The field research on tea plantations in Asia by Studio Sway, provided the insight that water is a by-product of the production of tea and that harvested tea leaves are dependent on the weather and subject to (drying) time.
Tea Drop is a tea machine that condenses water vapor from the surrounding atmosphere. It works entirely on its own. After some time, the teapot is filled with water, after which it can be boiled and becomes ready for consumption.
Teadrop emphasizes the way we produce, consume and use daily resources. In a symbolic way, Tea Drop wants to reclaim this precious resource while at the same time returning energy back to the environment.
